Copy Cat - Burlap Wrap Frame

A little peak inside my husband's man cave.  On the wall I made these pictures for the wall.  I recently saw Home Decorators magazine that they had a similar burlap canvas with a picture on top.  I took burlap and wrapped the canvas frames and stapled the burlap in the back.  The pictures are the metal tin signs that I picked up at a local flea market and placed it on top and attached to the burlap with these metal studs that are actually in the scrapbook department I found at Joann's, I put the metal thing through the holes on the tin and spread the little prongs in the back to hold the tin in place.

This is the one that Home Decorator has available.

Coronado Island

Our day trip to Coronado Island, a view from the massive bridge leading into the island.  Some of the pictures are out of order.

Front porch with a little decor of a lantern with some shells & candle. At first I thought the bird was real but just another prop.

Winnie thinking that it was time to cool off.  I made the mistake of saying that it was a pool and she was ready to go in. See that face of hers is asking if she could go in and trust me she would have been swimming in there if I had said "ok".

This is the backview of the Hotel Del Coronado.

The next few pictures are of some goodies I saw at one of the shops of the Coronado Hotel on the lower level.  They had different vignettes on several tables.

And, of course, I was drawn to this side of the store since it had Roosters.  I was so tempted to buy several rooster themed items but I was good and figured if I took pictures it would satisfy my rooster fix. So several pictures are taken of different roosters on display.  I did manage to buy 2 very large panels (approx. 24 inches square) of fabric which I think are dishtowels but I figured I would convert to a pillow or something else.

This was a cute metal shell with some dangly real shells hanging from it and to be used as wine jewelry.

This picture was of a seahorse pillow and the seahorse was actually crocheted and applied to the pillow.

Cute photo frame covered in burlap with a metal seahorse glued onto the corner.

This giant tag that says "The Beach"  was an image of a shell over burlap fabric and covered on the board which was actually a memo board.

Beautiful shell pillows with trim and little shells hanging from the trim.  The pillows were sort of like a tapestry and would certainly finish off any room just beautifully.

Hubby patiently waiting for me outside with the pooches.

Another view

Cute wooden planters with some metal hardware added to them.  Nice idea to spruce up a plain box.

So many young men in the Navy doing some training were crossing the street.  These were just a few there had to be at least 100, if not, more young men crossing the road with these rafts over their head and chanting something.  I had the windows down but could not hear them since Winnie & Coco certainly were barking up a storm as they were walking by.

This is the bridge that leads in and out of the island.  Trust me the pictures don't do it justice and once you are way up at the top you get a little nervous and just want it to be overwith soon.  On the way back we got caught in traffic and I had started to feel a little panic especially since we were stopped at the top.

These are a few pictures from the top of the bridge, some look closer since I had the camera zoomed.

On The Road to San Diego

Winnie, the back seat driver patiently waiting to get to our destination.

Sand dunes in CA on the way to destination.

Obviously, we are not getting there anytime soon this vacation thing takes forever to get there.

Interesting structure on top of the boulders, could not make out what it was.

Tons of boulders on either side of the drive, I wish I could take some home for landscaping in my backyard.

Darling hubby on a mission to get us there as soon as possible.

Coco all stretched out on my lap, it seems this is the only one who was very comfortable on the trip and not a care in the world.  What a dog's life!

Messing with Coco while she is sleeping, I thought to see how she how fashionable she would look with my sunglasses.  She could barely open her eyes to even care to see what I was doing to her.
Ok, I'm up now and ready for adventure so are we there yet? How much longer?

Oops, another border patrol stop point.  At this one the officer was friendly enough and wanted to make friends with Winnie & Coco.

Finally, we arrived!!  Our first destination until we get to the final destination later since we had left a day early we stayed here on Saturday.  This is a very lovely place but still just a little too warm.

Hubby having to hold onto the trouble maker she has spotted our camp site and is ready to go meet the new neighbors.

These are our neighbors, little do they know Coco is coming to introduce herself in a few minutes.

View across the lake from our campsite.  Very beautiful park with homes across from the lake.

This was our campsite for the night.

Just beyond our site in this park they also have available floating cabins that you can rent and several cabins on the lake.  Looks like a neat place to be able to stay in.

Closer shot of the floating cabins.

Thats it for now friends we shall be going for a walk later at our new site today and upload more pictures for you catch up on.  Enjoy your sunday!!
